Hi, I'm Ionawr (It means January in Welsh!) - I work as an illustrator and designer at Rowanvale, working with authors to illustrate their stories and create their book covers. I love my job; I get to read and draw which are two of my favourite things, (the third and fourth being eating chocolate and upcycling furniture!). I graduated with a degree in Illustration in 2017 and have since been illustrating alongside working with children, which I feel has given me great insight into what children love to read and see!
PLEASE NOTE: The total cost of an illustration project is calculated to include 4hrs of author liaison time, so that the author is fully involved in the illustration process. Cover Design Styles

Style 1 - A traditional, hand drawn cover with lots of concept behind it. I loved adding the little details, like the Big Ben design included in the snowflake to reflect the setting. This style includes lots of texture (in this case done in Oil) to add depth and emotion to the cover!

Style 2 - This cover is a mix of digital and traditional illustration. Much of the cover was drawn from life and then enhanced digitally to add lighting affects to the stain glass.

Style 4 - For this cover I used graphic digital illustration to create a bold and striking style. This is a clean contemporary cover which uses bold colours and graphic line work to draw the eye.

Style 6 - This cover is very stylised and conceptual. For this cover I used a modern and simple style of drawing in ink and then used digital editing to make the image pop!
