Choosing the Correct Keywords for Your Books

All profitable keywords will have the following three attributes. They will be …

1. Words / phrases that consumers are actively searching for

One way to find these is to use the “Incognito” mode that most browsers now have. This will allow you to enter search terms into sites such as Google or Amazon without your personal history affecting the results.

Enter the search terms slowly and allow AutoFill to complete them. This will reveal commonly searched words and phrases related to your book, which you can then use to your advantage, to gain your book more traction when you market it.

2. Words / phrases that lead consumers to make purchases

3. Competitive but not oversaturated

Remember: you want to appear amongst – and appeal to readers of – your competition, but you do not want to be overshadowed by them.
