About Carol Barratt:
Carol Barratt GRSM, ARCM, Hon RCM was born in the Midlands. She has devoted her life to music education and is acknowledged as a leading authority on the subject. She has over 80 publications in print including the renowned Chester Piano Books for Chester Music and the Bravo series for Boosey & Hawkes. Her music has frequently been set for the Associated Board examinations.
Carol also loves words and has written poetry for most of her life, contributing librettos to works (eg Stabat Mater, The Peacemakers, Stella Natalis) by her composer husband Sir Karl Jenkins, for whom she wrote the words for their children’s opera, Eloise.
Having written Idwal: A Tall Tree and some Tall Stories, a children’s book with illustrations by Wendy Hoile (Peniarth, 2014), Carol has now turned her attention to Nature’s Nasties Books 1 and 2, fun and factual stories set in the Gower peninsula, where she lived for over a decade.
