Darren the Dragon is back! The lovable dragon is a popular character in Davies' picture book series, and rightly so; his adventures allow readers to become immersed in the world of imagination and wonder. When Darren visits his friend, Derwyn, they embark on an adventure together to rescue Derwyn’s son from the sea. Will they succeed in their fight against the deadly waves?

As ever, Davies’ style of writing is succinct and entertaining with great rhythm; the words will just trip off your tongue, leaving readers engaged and overjoyed to hear of the brave dragon’s adventures. Dragons are extremely prominent in popular culture right now — the twelfth instalment in Cressida Cowell’s ongoing children’s series, How to Train Your Dragon, is set to be released later this year. Darren and Derwyn is sure to hold its own set in amongst these established works.
